Summary
They arrive at a train. The Brigadier shows them a queer ticket. The horn honks three times. Several people are on the train, all quiet and anticipating, but not tense. The Lieutenant lets the hours pass before the train slows, arriving at someplace he didn't even think exists. It may as well be off the map.
They walk out of the station. "Head to the IOTA building," Horal says, before leaving him alone. With a crowd, he walks into the building, seeing thousands of men, some he knows are quite deadly.
Whatever's going on, this is on a scale he doesn't think war has seen before.

The Lazarus is not having a good time.
First, her plane crashes. They’re a research squad, they shouldn’t have to deal with this. Second, the area they were supposed to be researching was taken over by both Yosef’s group and Sledge Queen’s group, if that castle is any indication. Third, her idiot teammates are idiots and have not even an infinitesimal amount of self-preservation!
Well, there’s a reason people like her are hired by the Agency.
