Bismuth tried not to be upset. Despite the communicative nature of the new Crystal Gems, in her experience with them being upset wasn’t quite allowed. Ironically it was frowned upon. Because there was of course always a resolution, a conversation, a hug that could at least alleviate the stressors one might be experiencing.
Like being left for almost dead for the remainder of a war you’d dedicated your life to, like being treated as lesser than an enemy that had clearly stated ill intent upon your team and sworn her alliance to the Diamonds continuously up to and far past the moment she’d been bubbled, like being expected to seamlessly adapt to and partake in a wedding environment for a team that didn’t want you after lifetimes of history.
Bismuth thought a hug from Biggs would do her wonders.

She looked from one tennis player to the other, and a question popped into her mind as Patrick handed the beer can to Art.
She pointed at the two of them, gesturing from one to the other Tashi asked.
“What about the two of you? Have you two ever..?” She let her question trail off, the implication raising both their eyebrows.
Art turned to look at Patrick, Patrick’s head was turned towards Tashi but his eyes met Art’s and he nodded enthusiastically. “Uh yeah, we have,” Art said, his voice slightly quieter and more raspy than it had been moments before.
