“Hold on,” Max interrupts, a smile pulling at his lips. "Knitting?”
Bradley’s eyebrows shoot up. He clears his throat, eyes landing on the empty space over Max’s left shoulder in favour of his narrow-eyed, teasing gaze. "It was suggested to me by an acquaintance of mine."
"An... acquaintance." Max echoes.
"Yes," Bradley replies sharply, "acquaintance, advisor, confidante." Then, as if choked out from the back of his throat, "Therapist."
"Oh," is all Max says, stupidly.
or, In which Max nearly eats shit on the pavement, Bradley admits to a new hobby, and apologies are (almost) attempted.
