Through blurry eyes, Lanyon picked through the vials until a green one in the corner caught his attention. He immediately grabbed it, bringing it closer to peer at the messy tag.
He could scarcely make out an 'H' as the first letter, which, paired with the green color, was enough confirmation for his frazzled mind. With a nervous breath, he popped the cork and brought the glass up to his lips. He lingered for a moment, before finally tipping his head back and drinking the concoction.

This is a full rewrite, completely different from my original story. I was quite discontent with the characterization (mainly of Elias) and pacing, so let's try this one more time >:3

'Well, not much can be worse than this damned headache..' Robert grimaced, slowly sitting up as the world seemed to teeter a bit.
He half-blindly fumbled around, searching for one of the vials Jekyll had said to be up there. Eventually, his hand brushed against cold glass, and before he could think too much about the fact that he was about to drink some chemical concoction, he popped the cork and downed it.

oh.Or;
Jekyll disappears a mere few days before the exhibition, with the only possible evidence being spilled alchemical brews and Hyde's tattered cape. Lanyon is the one forced to figure out where his friend has gone, and it ends up revealing far more than he'd ever expected.Bookmarked by Controlled_Fall

Summary
Hyde forces his way to take the HJ7 tonic, somehow managing to throw Jekyll out of their mindscape into conscious limbo. While at first it seems like a huge success, Hyde quickly realizes he can’t manage his heart-rate.. unfortunately putting him at the mercy of Robert Lanyon.
When the doctor goes snooping through Jekyll’s office and leaves with unanswered questions, Hyde has to dodge self-inflicted alcohol poisoning as well as Lanyon’s attempts at interrogations.Bookmarked by Controlled_Fall
