Summary
Ferdinand Von Aegir did not spend too much time at the opera or reading novels as a child. If his thoughts now ever wander to being tied up by a strikingly handsome adversary (which they do not), it is only because he needs to be prepared with a good strategy, should that ever come to pass. Also, avoiding Hubert is much more difficult at Garreg Mach than it had been in Enbarr.
Hubert prides himself on his powers of intimidation and detection, and Ferdinand is obviously hiding something. It is Hubert's duty to his future Emperor to put a stop to it.
OR: Ferdinand thinks they're in a gothic novel and Hubert thinks they're in a spy thriller. They're both wrong. It's a romantic comedy.

Summary
Over the tannoy, an announcement. Something about a gate change for a Delta Airline flight. Nothing important. Pulled out of this moment of pure focus, Eddie falters and loses any semblance of the bravery Richie so passionately ascribed him in the sewers.
He stabs the cuttlefish with one chopstick and shoves it into his mouth.
Maybe he should have written Richie a fucking letter. It would have been easy enough to slip that into his jacket pocket when he isn't looking, or at least easier than having to look him in the eyes over plates of sushi and say, Hey, bro, I'm in love with you.
He probably shouldn't call him bro while he says it.
"Nothing," he says, feeling like an idiot. "Never mind."

“Hey, Eddie.” He swallows, all of the saliva in his mouth has gone tacky with sudden anxiety. He doesn’t know if he’s talking more to Eddie or himself when he continues. “Don’t freak out.”
“Richie?”
“You should come stay with me.” There, it’s out there. He feels better for all of half a second before he realizes he was kind of vague and it kind of sounds like he’s inviting Eddie to move in with him. “I mean, just until your train situation is better.”
“Um,” Eddie says.
