Summary
It goes like this:
Stanley is an average borrower. He lives in the walls of an apartment building with the rest of his colony. They take what they need from the apartment’s residents while remaining hidden.
Stanley is good at his job. He’s very clever. Stanley is so clever, that he often acts before thinking and relies on his smarts to get him out of whatever situation he gets himself into.
This method has always worked for him. Not once has he ever been caught or even seen.
But, there’s a first time for everything, Stanley.
~~~
It goes like this:
The Narrator is a “retired” animal behavioral scientist. His career ended several years ago when he was terminated from his position at a prestigious lab.
Now, he lives alone in an average sized house in the country, away from the activity and noise of the city, away from judgemental stares and whispered words behind his back.
He is safe here. He doesn’t have to worry about what anyone thinks. He is quite comfortable staying right where he is - thank you very much.
A dear friend even stops by to drop off groceries for him once a week.
One week, he receives an unexpected item amongst his delivery.
Summary
He just wanted a place to rest after a hard night trying to 'borrow' the things he needed for the upcoming week. But when that place of rest zippers itself and begins to move he knew he made a grave mistake.
Taken away from his home and family in a meager sized apartment complex, the young borrower is met with the Daycare attendant.
And pets are not allowed in the Daycare.
Summary
ALRIGHT SO...Im gonna be that ass and post something of a pure self indulgence fic, moreso than my other one in progress.
Im also thanking uses Kibbits and the Research Squad discord for givin me ideas and confidence to post this shit let alone write it.
ANYWAYS, Gordon lives a very boring life as a scientist at Black Mesa, until shit goes south and he and everyone else working there gets booted out for two months for repairs thanks to shenanigans.
What Gordon doesnt know is that he shares his spacious two bedroom apartment with a group of very chaotic borrowers. Benry, Coomer, Bubby, and Tommy. None of them like or expect the sudden change in schedule and now shit gets real, who'll be the idiot to get them all found out (if u read the ships you get a damn good idea..)
some slow burn for fluff reasons, Gordon goes a lil insane thinking he has rats, and all hell breaks loose.
ALSO theres going to be a reverse of this trope in the works sometime soon because I love both sides of this trope. Borrower Gordon dealing with the science team and trying not to die. Keep a eye out for that fic and my other shit as I update.
Summary
Another thump, then another, then another. Enormous, ground-shaking footsteps, coming closer. His body froze up, locked in place in the middle of the countertop, muscles refusing to respond, every ingrained borrower instinct screaming at him to run, to hide, to get the hell out of the open. Yet he couldn’t move as the bone-rattling steps grew louder, and louder, until finally, a colossal figure appeared in the far doorway, casting a vast shadow in the light from the other room.
Doubt this will be updated, considering how long it’s been, but if it is updated, I’m definitely reading it.
