Summary
“Eddie.” Buck adjusts his movements so that he can finally see his best friend’s eyes. Large and round and brown, doe-like and dilated as if he were both predator and prey.
The hunter and the hunted.
Salvation and ruin.

Summary
“A party crasher?” Eddie frowns. “Is someone trying to get at the open bar or the buffet? They do realize that there are cops among the wedding guests, right? Where’s Buck?”
“I think maybe it’s better if Buck stayed out of this. Maddie saw him first, so good luck trying to stop her from clawing the guy’s eyes out.” Hen takes out her phone, showing him a picture. "Chimney sent me this."
Eddie is confused at her words at first before he looks down. The confusion is replaced with incandescent rage.

Summary
What does kissing Stiles feel like?
The burn inside of him is heating up his cheeks, his facial hair rubbing against Stiles’ bare chin. The burn coils down to his legs, where he uses his strength to keep himself standing up instead of leaning forward, potentially knocking Stiles off balance. The burn swells in his chest, tightening around his heart and refusing to let go.
He can recall a time throughout his life when he felt all of these things separately.

Summary
On his first day, Eddie sees the ghost before he meets him.
There is a boy, younger than Christopher but not by much, who runs around the station like it’s a playground. For a second, while Eddie is pulling a shirt over his head, he thinks the boy is real and someone ought to be watching out for him because a fire station is no place for a kid that young to play unsupervised.
And then the boy, pale, skinny and too frail for his age, passes through an exiting member of C shift like wind through a plastic bag. A ghost.
“Who the hell is that?”
Eddie watches as the ghost – just a fucking kid, really – whips his head around to the voice. His face lights up and Eddie’s heart sinks because how cruel can this world be?
He turns around and Eddie is struck. The man is strong and broad, all blue eyes and defined features. If it weren’t for the splotch of color above his eyebrow, Eddie would think that the man and the little boy standing at his side were genetic matches.
OR Eddie Diaz can see ghosts — that’s nothing new. The little boy following around his new coworker is a different story.

Summary
It’d be good for Buck to have another cat around him. If Bobby’s lucky, Eddie’s mellow temperament would rub off on his crazy orange menace and make him less of a terror.
Of course, that was delusional of him to hope so. If anything, the two were even worse together.
Buck pawing at people’s legs as a distraction while Eddie stole something off their plate. Buck dragging gloves or socks into Bobby’s office like trophies while Eddie followed behind to drop the stolen items into Bobby’s trash can. Napping in the most random places and therefore forcing everyone to check the engine every time just in case they were inside. Following people around and plopping down belly up at their feet like two meowing speed bumps. Knocking random stuff off the shelves.
Just last week, the two had stepped on the PA mic, Buck broadcasting a steady stream of purrs and random meows throughout the entire firehouse until Hen found Eddie serenely perched on the button.
Bobby somehow ended up adopting not one, but two demonic cats.

Summary
“Marry me,” he blurted out, causing the other man to freeze and turn to stare at him.
“What?”
Eddie slowly lowered himself down on one knee, keeping eye contact with Buck, his blue eyes widening as he watched Eddie sink to the ground. Somewhere in the background, he hears a woman squealing as she notices what’s happening.
Eddie clears his throat, grabbing one of Buck’s hands as a crowd starts to form around them. “Buck... Evan. There is nothing more that I want than to spend the rest of my life getting pretzels with you at the zoo listening to your endless fun animal facts while you buy our son sugary confections that he doesn’t need just because it makes him happy... So will you please marry me?”

Summary
Eddie’s mind wandered to the red folder, tucked high up in the back of his closet. He recalled back to a conversation he had with Buck, almost a year ago at this point:
“It’s an insurance policy; a break glass in case of emergency. A trump card.”
“One I really hope we’ll never have to use.”
“But if we have to, we’ll be really glad we did this.”
When hospital policy doesn't allow Chris, as an unrelated minor, to visit a comatose post-lightning strike Buck in the ICU, Eddie has a solution. Unfortunately, that involves sharing some pretty personal information in a waiting room filled with the 118.
