After Nimona nobly sacrifices herself to stop the Director's attack on the kingdom, Ballister's left with nothing left of his friend but ashes and regrets...
Or so he thinks.
She's still alive. But, she's not the same. A little, hyperactive shadow of the wild, sardonic shapeshifter he once knew. And she's proving to be a lot more than he can handle. Thankfully, he knows someone who's more than a little eager to get back into his good graces.
(Alternatively: Ballister and Ambrosius become co-parents for a newly reborn Nimona and work to not just take care of a shapeshifter in this new, changing world, but also repair their broken relationship.)

It’s a project like nothing you have worked on previously, almost too close to human for comfort.
It's a suspenseful romance about a robot and an engineer based on a horror themed video game - so general TW for Mature Content: Including language, mentions of trauma, violence, and sexually suggestive or explicit acts.
