Backed against the door, he shrinks a tad. Make up to him? Wasn’t working overtime the whole week enough? His mind reels through the possible things he might’ve done wrong. It comes up blank.
“Make up…?” he asks, hesitantly.
The chef is all smiles. His hand is gentle as it caresses his cheek, plays with teal strands, but beneath those cold eyes Shin only feels like cattle under a butcher’s mercy.
“You wasted my meals today.”
An avalanche of fear crashes down his spine. So it wasn’t just paranoia, after all.

It’s proof that she’s alive, that she’s finally free to enjoy the world so many others she once knew could not, and she doesn’t quite know what to do with that yet.

Summary
They stick their fingers between the bars of your birdcage, letting the shadow of their hand play in your glow. It casts red across the floor, as if seeking to replace a stain scrubbed away by firm hand and plenty of vinegar. Their fingers curl slowly, as if testing the control over their own joints, before fanning out one by one. Time passes in the beating of your heart and the careless fall of hair across their face.
“I wonder,” Kris finally speaks, something in their speech mumbled and raspy. Reclaiming a voice that had not been their own for days. “Am I your cage? Or are you mine?”
(Inspired by various comics of Kris talking to the player/soul)
