Summary
Hermione Granger is special. She's always known it, really, even before she received her letter that informed her she was a witch, and even before she could do the little tricks that kept away the bullies and left her time for her books. It was too bad, of course, that she had never met anyone quite as special as her, but she was hoping that would change now that she was going to a right and proper school for witches and wizards.
And she wasn't wrong, because the moment she laid eyes on Harry Potter she just knew he was very special indeed.

Summary
Latin; a dead language with no practical applications except perhaps the deciphering of old texts and as a particularly quaint party trick.
Thankfully, as Harry finds out, Latin is not as dead as he was first taught when he decided to learn the language. It wouldn't have mattered anyway, of course; he loved Latin, and would have been proud to know it even had it been as useless as it was pretty. But in the world of Wizards, the world of Magic, Harry realizes his rare talent with words is particularly valuable, and allows him to use magic that no one's ever heard of, that no one's ever seen. But as time goes on, and he becomes more and more entangled in the webs spun by those around him, he starts to realize just how deep the magical rabbit hole goes and how dangerous power like his can be.
All Harry had ever wanted was for the world to make sense.

Summary
Fic idea from blackkatmagic: "Due to a clerical error, Anko ends up with a genin team. Given that the very idea of separating the enraptured Naruto, Ino, and Shino from their psychotic sensei causes spontaneous explosions, Sarutobi goes along with it, and is astonished to find that everything actually turns out for the better."

Mitarashi Anko is loud, obnoxious, vulgar, and scary. But she says what she thinks, and she thinks that Naruto's pranks are awesome, that Ino is both pretty and smart and potentially as cool as her dad, and that Shino had good taste in clothes and has a super-brain. So now the three kids want to be like her when they grow up, the original team assignments are shot, and half a dozen of Jonins are stuck unraveling this mess while Anko and her three pyromaniac are prancing around.
At least it won't be boring.

Summary
Severus Snape knew many things, not that he was one to brag about his knowledge. He knew how each and every ingredient would react to another or to any outside stimulus whether that be heat or a stirring rod. He knew how to fight and how to create spells to end the fights quickly. He knew how to deceive even the most paranoid of people. He knew that he should never have agreed to become a teacher and, above all else, he knew that Petunia Dursley nee Evans should never be allowed within a hundred feet of a magical child.
A Severus raises Harry fic because I love them. Simple as that.
