To remember having friends in the Fire Nation. To remembers walking through Caldera City with Kuzon, choking on Fire Flakes, and watching street performers.
So now that Zuko was here asking for redemption...well, being friends sounded better than being enemies.
Maybe their friendship was destined to be. Maybe together they could bring back some of what was lost.

It was raining, though in this town that was far from a special occurrence. Xie Lian waited by the counter the whole day, wiping it down with a rag. Every couple of hours, he’d check on the books, just to make sure they were okay. And when he was sure they hadn’t moved or been displaced, he’d return to his spot at the counter and continue cleaning. This lasted for fourteen hours. From five in the morning until seven in the afternoon.
