Summary

Summary
The West Tokyo Final is in two days, and Ryousuke’s shin is injured. He couldn’t afford to let anyone know that he got hurt in the last game against Sensen Academy, but he also couldn’t keep up the healthy facade without Youichi finding out. Youichi always found out. It was inevitable that his year-long partner would realize that he wasn’t in perfect condition, but he held out hope that Youichi wouldn’t tell the coach. Baseball had been Ryousuke’s passion since he was young, so he couldn’t let one minor injury prevent him from helping his team get to nationals. He made perfect plays in the practice held the day before the final, so he thought that he wouldn’t need to sit out during the game. However, on the day of the finals, experiencing the pressure of playing what could become his last serious high school baseball game seemed to make the pain in his shin burn more intensely. Jammed pitches he would have been able to catch with ease seemed to shoot past his glove, just out of reach, and running to bases was a whole different kind of trouble. “It can’t end here.” explores how Ryousuke and Youichi might have behaved before, during, and after the nerve-wracking game against Inashiro Industrial at the West Tokyo Finals.

Summary
He reaches for his cooking chopsticks and begins to beat the eggs for their tamagoyaki, his body pushing back into Youichi’s chest to return the warmth of his affection. “Should we do salmon or mackerel for breakfast?” he asks, debating if he can get away with pressing his lips to that round cheek in his peripheral. No, that’s too far. He’s only ever successfully managed once before, and that was celebratory in nature. Oh well, he’s doing it inside his head, and in it, it’s the reason for that sweet smile Youichi’s making at him.
“Salmon. Duh,” he answers. “It’s classic. Can’t go wrong with that.”
They say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach. It's an adage Miyuki Kazuya believes in and has come to live by, but what no one tells him is what he's supposed to do when the heart he's trying to feed is trapped beneath the bottomless pit Kuramochi Youichi calls his stomach.
