Exterminator is now complete and willing to travel underwater to the sunken superstructure to rid it of the rot that has overtaken it."
"Exterminator is an average slugcat, covered in rot cysts and tentacles, although this does not seem to be anything that spreads from them. I am thankful they were willing to risk this … but no matter. This was necessary to save Silent Ripple in Still Water. They are capable of absorbing other rots. They need to rest the cycle soon after this, for their safety, but should be able to exterminate the rot that has caused Silent Ripple in Still Water to crash."

"He wears a denim blue lab coat. I would normally assume he was trying to be clinical using such a plain, lifeless shade. However, his coat is splattered with old blue paint. Why does he try to stand out with such an ugly addition? He looks damaged. Like he cannot afford to clean his clothing. He's more stuck within his superstructure than the others. He has no legs to wander, no capability to explore the abandoned city built atop him. He has no animals to observe, either. He is truly the most secluded of us, even if he is the closest to another superstructure. He was too careless - caring for others, but not caring for himself enough."

Summary
The moon was full, a spotlight that shone across every corner of the island. It was midnight, a mild tropical storm causing rain on the island of Snaktooth. Plantlife shook from violent winds, rustling leaves and fronds of ferns rippling under dewy droplets of water. The grumpuses who lived in Snaxburg all slept - warm under their blankets - close to those they loved or their pillows, deep in sleep through the comfort of the rain hitting the walls of their houses. All grumpus except one, that is.
The Journalist was tired and oh-so-hungry.
Tonight they would - perhaps - fix that problem.

Emma should be dead - she was surrounded by infected, and she had seen how quickly they'd managed to kill. They'd gotten so many people in so little time. Hatchetfield had been overtaken in but a day. However, somehow, thanks to someone, she manages to survive. Her trust is about as flimsy as one can expect, but she thinks - maybe - she can trust him. She hopes so. He's the only chance she has.
Paul should be dead - the spores that filled his lungs made every breath of human air painful. However, he'd managed to hold on. The chorus screams in his mind, and focusing on more than the music is like a new form of hell within his own personal hell. He, however, couldn't let them get her. He couldn't let another get stuck in the hivemind. He knows he's a threat to everyone's safety - however, he has a second chance. He doesn't plan on wasting it. She's the only chance he has.
