Aziraphel wants to go to heaven, Crowley doesn't. An irreconcilable conflict. In this version of the story, however, it is not Crowley who tries to convince the other with desperate behaviour.
Variation of the ending of episode 6, season 2, (spoiler) because, strangely, the kiss and the end of the conflict didn't feel quite organic to me. Now it's somehow become a bit more tragic.
