“It’s just…” She’s suddenly crying, her emotions jumping from one extreme to the next. “I’m not gonna live forever, you know? I don’t want you to lose me either. We have so much more ass-kicking to do. So much more… environment stuff.”She knows being in her 30s isn’t old, but it’s hard to not feel like time’s not the worst enemy of their relationship when Ivy is just gonna keep on living as Harley ages, dies, and is buried six feet underground.
“You can plant a tree for me on my grave,” she says after she bursts into complete tears and holds onto Ivy.
“Shh-shh, peanut. It’s okay. I promise. I’ll figure it out.”
Harley doesn’t know what Ivy means. She chooses not to question it, but lets Ivy stroke her hair instead as she cries against her chest.

That finally makes Elphaba lift her gaze from her notes. She looks at Galinda like she’s said something incredibly weird. To Galinda’s defense, she hasn’t said anything that weird. It’s totally normal to ask a book enthusiast if they’d like to live in a book.
“Why?”
“For the… romance?”
“Haven’t thought about it,” Elphaba answers. “Might be interesting.”

It only made it worse when she saw Glinda purse her lips to avoid laughing as she stepped past her. She looked around the space like she was examining a new office. Her small pink heels clicked across the small living area, glancing over to the crowded kitchen, and then she swung back around to meet Elphaba’s gaze. She looked at her like she was awaiting instructions. Oh shit, Elphaba thought. She is.
