Summary
“Yuri knew what to expect with Natsuki around.
She’d sit down beside Yuri, always setting her books down just a bit too harshly. Natsuki would sigh, grumble a bit, and then tell Yuri off for looking at her. It was the same every single day.
Without that reliability, Yuri didn’t know what to do with herself. She caught herself staring blankly at the door, waiting for her to walk in. She didn’t know why. It was ridiculous— juvenile, even. Yuri didn’t care. If Natsuki didn’t show up, that would be perfectly fine.
But even so, why did this feel so uncomfortably personal?”
OR
Yuri isn’t sure why, but there’s a nagging in her brain that won’t stop. Ever since Natsuki was late to a meeting, frazzled and clearly in distress, Yuri found herself spiraling down into a dark chasm. They weren’t close. They had never been close, even after being in the Literature Club together for so long. Oftentimes it felt like there was some sort of core incompatibility between them. But now things were different. Natsuki was suffering, and despite her best efforts to not care about the girl, Yuri couldn’t stand it.
She was going to save her.

[THIS FIC HAS BEEN DISCONTINUED]
Johnny’s legs were starting to burn as he ran down the road, illuminated only by the street lights. It felt like someone had sparked flames inside of his muscles, but he still stumbled his way toward the vacant lot. It was the first place his mind had come up with. All he needed was space. Just time to calm down, that was all he needed.
Or
After an intense fight at his home, Johnny Cade finds himself casted out into the cold night by his mother, barred from ever coming back. Distressed and without guidance, he runs to the abandoned lot to gather his thoughts and calm down.
At the same time, Ponyboy Curtis is taking a walk down the road. Upon spotting Johnny and hearing about his situation, he brings him back to the Curtis household to stay.
Now, Johnny not only has to deal with the odd feelings starting to stir inside his mind, but he also has to figure out how to be part of a family again.
