"When the soul suffers too much, it develops a taste for misfortune."

In which, Kaveh realises that to heal you sometimes need something more than time.

“My dad’s always in a hurry to head home to see my mom. They’re a cute couple like that. Kind of embarrassing at times, though…” His intern makes a face. “Anyways, I’m sure it must be like that with you and your wife too. Alright, see you tomorrow Scribe Alhaitham! Or…the day after? Next week?”

    “...my wife?”

Or, Alhaitham hopes to have an uneventful day of work, followed by a peaceful dinner with his roommate. Of course, nothing goes according to plan.

    Summary

It is biologically impossible for a man to replicate technological functions. As much as Kaveh (and colleagues) like calling Al-Haitham an index of niche and generally insignificant information on legs, he will never quite live up to the title.

Here's a novel one: people must have taken to thinking of him as a human compass because they always seem to come to him when they're looking for Kaveh.

People keep coming to Al-Haitham when they want to know where Kaveh is. Al-Haitham would be lying if he said he didn't know why.

    Summary

One of the ways Kaveh shows his kindness is through his hands.

Al-Haitham has seen it many times over. The man would offer them to stumbling children or elderlies who struggle in carrying their groceries at the market, would hold them out in readiness whenever a cat is stuck in a tree, and would move them in grand gestures as he explains complicated calculations to scratching heads students. His hands are always open, always moving as if this way the light he houses can pour out in streams and touch everything and everyone.

(Kaveh is kind. He wears his heart on his sleeve and shows it with his hands. Al-Haitham is not an exception to this part of him.)
