“Yeah, I’m just… tired.” He answered. “I had a nightmare about the war.” He said quietly. Ochako nodded understandingly.
“Those suck!” She replied. “But you know what else is terrible? Katsuki’s attitude!” She said a little louder, likely to get his attention. Those two always loved to beef, and it made Izuku laugh every time.
“HAH? YOU WANNA GO PINK CHEEKS?” He shouted from the kitchen. Kacchan still called some of them the nicknames he made at the beginning of the year, except now he does it out of love and not out of ignorance, no matter how much he denies it.
“Bring it on!” She yelled back.
Basically, Izuku had a nightmare and his friends cheer him up!

What he had to. Izuku did what he had to. Not that he was going to tell Eraserhead that, of all people, but for everyone else to note: he did what he had to, and nothing extra, nothing more. It wasn’t like Izuku had a track record for anything else, after all. He liked pissing off heroes. He liked stealing from villains. He liked warmth. He liked resting his head on the quilt his Mom made him. He liked not being sick—not that he had that opportunity very often. The point was: he did what he had to, and he did it well, and he didn’t dilly-dally doing jackshit in yellow-tape like cops and heroes did. Suck on that, Eraserhead.

It was awkward to be face to face with the hero who kept trying to arrest you, take you in—whatever the term was. It was awkward. It was even more awkward to be trapped in some unknown basement, injured, and without proper medical supplies.
Izuku was sixteen. He was not prison material, for fuck’s sake, and he wasn’t about to go to some kind of juvenile detention center just because he filled the gaps better than the heroes next to him! He liked heroes, you know? He didn’t do anything that would harm them! That was why he took the bullet! Why was Eraserhead of all people, the man of self-proclaimed logical ruses, yelling at him? Like, come on!
(or: izuku is a vigilante with no qualms for violence. aizawa is a hero who keeps watching izuku bite the bullet.)
