Summary
Mike is visiting Will for their spring break at college. He's tried to keep his feelings in check, but seeing Will thriving and moved on makes restraint impossible. A week of reckless impulses, impulsive choices, and disastrous communication tests the limits of their “friendship” and forces them to confront exactly what they mean to each other.
I grin, lingering as I admire him before letting him tug me in the right direction. The thought slips from my mouth, loose and unfiltered. “I would follow you to the ends of the earth sorcerer.” I laugh, savoring the warmth of his hand still wrapped around my wrist.
He glances back at me, cheeks rosy, a soft smile on his face, “Will you ever let that go?”
I shake my head, my expression melting into something bittersweet. “No.”

Trapped inside Vecna’s mind, Mike is forced to confront his greatest fears, his regrets, and memories he thought he could bury. Every choice could cost him everything and everyone he loves.
“Will!” I cry, tears falling freely. “Will!” I shout again, trudging through the water.

Summary
Five years after Hawkins graduation the party is back together for Jonathan and Nancy's Wedding. Mike is forced to confront buried feelings and memories he has spent years repressing. Seeing Will again for the first time in years begins to unravel the walls he has put up. Old feelings resurface, unspoken and unresolved, forcing Mike to confront what he has been running from and whether some things were never truly left behind.

Mike pulls at his hair, back still to Will as he starts,
“Will — can you please just... can you sit? For a minute?" He says, voice tight and nervous.
"I— I think I need to... say something."
Or,
The party has just finished their final campaign in the Wheeler's basement.
Dustin, Max, and Lucas have all said their tearful goodbyes, given their hugs, and headed home. It's a bittersweet ending of a chapter.
When Will's hand finally hits that doorknob, Mike realizes it's now or never.
He needs to be honest.
He needs to speak. From the heart.
