Summary
They meet on a train, going through a rural area in China. He Tian's feeling disillusioned with his brother and is running from the business meeting he's supposed to be in in Shanghai. That's about the time the hot redhead enters the train car and sits opposite him, murmured 'scuse me falling quietly from his lips.
One problem. Well, two: the guy is on the wrong seat. He Tian knows that he is because He Tian bought out every seat in the train car. He has no way to let the guy know that, considering He Tian doesn't speak a word of Chinese besides ni hao and his own name.
Which leads to problem two: redhead is breathtaking, fucking beautiful, and has an attitude to boot, and He Tian really, truly needs to make out with him, which will be difficult, considering, yeah, He Tian doesn't speak a word of Chinese besides ni hao and his own name.
He has a few hours on this train. It's going to be a long ride.

Summary
There are only four people in the restaurant that He Tian can see when he walks in. An older couple that sits by one of the windows, smiling at each other and not paying him any mind. The other patron pauses while sipping his coffee, watching him from a table in the back, but as soon as they make eye contact—he looks down quickly, embarrassed.
The only other person in sight is a taller man, with a shaved head. Standing behind the bar with a surprised, but delighted expression directed at He Tian. The pen and papers in his hands get placed on the bar counter so he can wave and gesture for him to walk further into the restaurant and toward him.
“Boss doesn’t want you here, Bro He.” Buzzcut says— a direct contradiction of his big welcoming smile on his face. Pleased as punch to see him, “He told me to tell you to get the fuck out if you came in. So—get lost, I guess.”
He Tian just smiles back, “No.”

Summary
When he picks up his phone, and sees the notification that Guan Shan has sent him an image— it strikes him as odd, but not immediately alarming.
Quickly, as he unlocks his phone, that changes.
The photo is of Guan Shan.
Sitting up right, and tied with rope to a wooden kitchen chair in the middle of a dark and abandoned looking room—mouth taped shut and eyes narrowed in murderous fury. There is a cut on his eyebrow that has bled down his face and his clothes are scuffed and dirtied as if he had been put through a fight.
Another ping—a text message:
‘Negotiations, He—don’t try anything funny.’
