The game was over. It finally was, which meant they were free to do as they pleased on that island. For many, this was a sad time, having to wait so long for their classmates to wake up, but for Hajime Hinata, it was even harder. Waking up to find another, much more different, better, and yet worse you, modified and changed to benefit the school he had looked forward to, was tough on his mind and body. Needless to say, it was a mess. And it would only get better once a certain someone woke up.

"Mike," he makes his lips say, because saying Mike's name is as natural as breathing.
Mike's looking at him with wonder-slackened lips, and Will's looking back, couldn't look away even if he wanted to.

“Like El.”
The words are so quiet, so unmeant to be heard that if Mike was any less perceptive, he wouldn’t catch them.
“Exactly like El. Maybe even cooler, because she was trained and you - you had no idea you could ever do that. Super cool.”
Mike refuses to unpack the weird, rotten feeling forming at the bottom of his throat at comparing them. He swallows around it until it lands in the darkness of his soul with a thud, leaving nail scratches on the shame already packed there.
“Oh.”

Mike points a thumb in the direction of El’s drawing. “I mean, they’re close, but not…you know, if you really look at Will’s lips…”
Max screeches out another laugh. “Okay, Wheeler? How often do you really look at Will’s lips?”
Mike can feel a hot blush creeping up his neck, heating his cheeks and forehead. “I don’t…I mean, I’ve known him since kindergarten, okay? It doesn’t mean anything…”
Max manages to reduce herself to light giggles. She looks at him innocently. “What did I say it would mean?”

El learns to draw. Her drawing of Will is pretty perfect, except for one thing, according to Mike. Max is beyond amused.
