Five Pebbles never liked animals, some would say he hated them. Cycles ago he'd be disgusted with the idea of living with one, let alone calling it his best friend. But now as he lay in bed with a massive beast purring against his chest, he couldn't imagine his life without her.
He didn't exactly plan for this, but when you're choking from the smoke of burning bridges and life regrets, it's nice to have someone by your side whose life is as charred as yours.~~~

Summary
The Saint has begun yet another excursion, to undo what cannot be undone.
Cultures leave marks on the world. For the ancients, those marks are iterators. While their architecture and memory will fade and allow new life to thrive, their robotic gods do not die easily. The Saint is responsible for dealing with problems like that.
But on their quest to find a few specific collapsed iterators, they find an odd red slugcat. A warmonger, a carnivore, an Artificer. And despite their anger, despite their coldness… Saint cannot help but find something in them.
And perhaps, with his help… she will find something in herself.
It’s an artisaint au!! Saint and arti are going on a journey to find love, and the iterators. And probably the worm pond, eventually. emphasis on AU by the way. Saint has some tricks up his sleeve. :)

An Alternate Universe retaining to my other fan-fic Overcast. My first public work- of which, is filled with plenty of angst, frankly, I needed an outlet for something less intense.So this universe takes place in a modern day setting, very similar to our world, except, everyone is just an iterator, slugcat, or scavenger. (Essentially a perfect world)
Hunter, finding a new place to work, having flunked out of college- and having a small, but bad history with crime, is given another opportunity by a family friend (Moon), to work, simply, as a janitor for the many businesses she oversees renting out buildings to.
While cleaning one night, he bumps into someone beautiful- and she never leaves his mind.
