Summary
Hinduism has millions of gods only in name. In practice? No possible human can be expected to remember all that and pray or give any value to them all. Theologically this means you get gods getting assigned responsibility for other deities especially if they have a significant cult following. But if gods literally exist as entities, are they actually devouring and absorbing each other?
Exploring the idea with this fic because I, for one, think Yama would have been thrilled and enjoyed at the idea of voring Dharma.
