Summary
No. No, Eddie’s not leaving, he’s going away. It’s not the same thing, it’s not, but Buck can’t swallow past the bitter sting in the back of his throat that warns it is, it is the same, it’s you.
Buck is not being abandoned. He is not being left behind.
It just feels that way.(or, the thought of dying alone has always terrified Buck, but dying in Eddie’s arms is worse.)

Summary
The sound that Eddie makes is mortifying. It’s kind of like a whimper, but mostly he’s just crying. “Buck, I think I’m dying.”
“You’re not dying.”
“Don’t judge me,” Eddie heaves, “but I’m so horny I think I’m dying.”

Summary
“Stop saying that you’re fucking sorry, Buck. You’ve done nothing to prove that you’re actually sorry.” Eddie’s voice rises and Buck hugs himself, gripping onto the sides of his shirt.
It’s tight.
It’s too tight.
And there’s not enough space for both of their feelings in the truck.
Droplets of sweat are making their day down Buck’s back, making the already tight fabric cling to his skin, furthering the uneasy feeling that’s starting to spread throughout his entire body.
Don’t say sorry, Evan. Just do better. Just be better.

Summary
“Dad says you’re not feeling good,” Christopher said from beside him on the couch, causing a flash of panic as he’d almost forgotten he was there.
The air cut his throat when he cleared it. He frowned, then tried for a smile as he glanced at him. “Uh, yeah, I guess not, but getting to see you is helping.”
Christopher had a little scrunch to his nose, making his glasses shift. “Are you sick?”
The question felt too big in his head as it bounced around, and his mind wandered back to the fire and Bobby.
His teeth dug into his lip, scraping. They were cracked and rough, and he bit at the skin of his bottom one, catching an edge and peeling it a bit. It seemed like a thing he should be able to feel, but he couldn’t.
Bobby was the one in the hospital, the person they should be worrying about, not him.
--or--
Bobby gets hurt, and Buck can't cope, so he checks out, going numb, but Eddie, Chris, and a flame pull him back. Two of those things were healthy, and one was not.
