They often made small talk on the way to his house. "Your handiwork looked great here" or "Next time look out for this when you see that". Nothing ever too deep and always about work. Then after ten minutes of that, they'd pull into the driveway of a not too big (but definitely not cheap) house and Dennis would walk in, like he's done dozens of times, and sit on the couch and wait. And listen.
