Then he saw it.
Across the land of Liyue, he could see Mondstadt slowly grow more and more clouded with a grey sky, like a distant memory he had seen before. It was sending shockwaves of wind towards his direction.
"Venti..." he mouthed, feeling his chest drop into his stomach.
Materializing his geo element into his legs, he leaped off the Aozang mountain and tore through the sky to get to Mondstadt. He already knew.

Having crossed paths with the Abyss Prince before, Zhongli comes to realize his plan and sets out to save his oldest friend. Only as he narrowly escapes the man's grasps with Venti in his arms does he realize he was too late. In the bard's last moments, Zhongli recollects on all of the things he wish he could have done.

Morax is a dragon, and just like all dragons, he hoards treasures. Unlike other dragons, however, his treasures consist of things far rarer than jewellery or jewels. Morax is a god, after all, and he has finer tastes than that.
Barbatos is one such treasure, and Morax is not going to let him go anytime soon.
