Only a few moments ago, Guanyin temple had been collapsing around him, rubble falling at his feet. Sizhui had frozen in the midst of it all, completely unmoored. He did nothing still when Senior Wei pressed close and smiled at him, blood dripping from the corners of his lips. It was a gory smile, all red teeth, and so obviously forced. “It’s okay, Sizhui,” he’d said. “You’ll be okay.”

Summary
Dying was supposed to be simple—peace, quiet, an end to all the complications of existence. But of course, there was Yichen. Who else would be stubborn enough to drag Zhu Yan back into the chaos? He should be angry. Or disappointed. Or maybe even grateful. Instead, he’s preoccupied with burying inconvenient truths as deeply as possible—just like a proper Great Demon ought to.
And then there’s Wen Xiao. Radiant, clever, endlessly amused by their antics. It’s easy to lose yourself in her, isn’t it? But not even her brilliance can quiet the restless hunger gnawing at the edges.
This is a story about how even millennia don’t make you any smarter about your own feelings. About stubborn ex-humans breaking apart and drinking too much. About demonic sex-ed (yes, actual sex-ed), and the surprising practicality of balance as both a life skill and… other things.
Most of all, it’s about finding what you didn’t realize you’d been searching for all along—and what it costs to claim it.
The story is finished, and I’ll be posting updates a few times a week (don’t expect daily; I’m way too lazy for that). Comments, however, make me post faster. Do with that what you will.

Or - Yichen Doesn’t Need Your Pity, Thank You Very Much. He Will Fuck His Way Out of It
It’s been a really long 300 years, OK? Long, annoying, and way too much work. How long can 300 years take? Exactly 300 years, apparently. And Yichen is tired. But finally he’s done. He found the Zhu Yan. He saved him. More or less. Mostly more. Honestly, it was a perfect save. Totally fine. Great Demon is fine. He’s back with his perfect goddess.
So now, Yichen? He can relax, enjoy some very deserved and very good fucking, and maybe even sip a nice drink.
Only, it’s never that simple. Because he may want zero problems, but when you’re a dragon with a scandalously long and, let’s face it, chaotic dating history, trouble tends to follow. Especially when said trouble includes way-too-perceptive mountain demons and undeniably hot foxes. Problems? Yeah, they’re inevitable.
And that’s before factoring in malicious energy blobs, way too much jealousy, and a goddess with far too many opinions. So, is he fine? Totally fine. Probably. Unless, of course, being hopelessly in love with a very much taken Great Demon, while attempting to solve the mystery of malicious energy, does count as a problem.
