"Do you think it's going to snow?" Jungkook asked.
Hoseok peered through the windscreen. "I doubt it. But I suppose there are quite a lot of clouds."
"Maybe there'll be a blizzard," suggested Jungkook, shivering happily. "And so much snow will fall that we'll be cut off. Completely isolated. And then the power will go out-"
"Please don't say that!"
"-and we'll have to huddle round the fire for warmth, and carry candles to get back to our rooms!" Jungkook could picture it all very clearly - the dead quiet, the eerie creaking of tree branches, faces illuminated by a candle flame. And then, after several days of isolation, Jungkook would bravely set off down the mountain to fetch help. He'd fall in a stream and nearly freeze, but he'd persevere until he reached civilisation - stumbling through a door and gasping out his information before passing out.
(Jungkook has always wanted to be the star of a romantic tale. Perhaps this idyllic mountain holiday will be his chance.

Taehyung glances toward the window into the corridor and is relieved to spot a familiar face peering through the glass. Yoongi has picked Taehyung up from almost every class over the last few months, and he insists on waiting outside, no matter how often Taehyung invites him into the classroom. Yoongi says he doesn’t want to distract anyone from their work, but Taehyung suspects that he's terrified of being asked to give an Opinion on Art.

Namjoon gives Yeontan an amused look while shaking his head. “I could never get bored of this. There’s just so much space – look at all that sky!”
Taehyung has also always thought the sky is bigger here than anywhere else. A science teacher once tried to explain why this was not true, but Taehyung ignored them, sure that he was correct in spirit, if not in facts. Has he mentioned this to Namjoon before? Perhaps they’re just on the same wavelength.

Summary
The parking lot at Wangsan Beach is empty, but Jongwoo still chooses a spot at the very edge of it, tucked away in the shadows. The ocean is an endless dark mass that brushes at the edges of the white sand, and they’ve made it far enough away from the city lights that the stars are visible, if faint, in the sky above their heads.
It’s beautiful. It seems like a perfect place for a goodbye and Jiwoong’s heart twists.
“Hyung,” Jongwoo says, gaze on the water. “This is going to be the last time we do this. Okay?”
(Or: Jiwoong is going to debut and Jongwoo isn't. A chapter ends and a new one begins.)
