Suo… the one who seemed so untouchable and invincible… the one Sakura knew he could rely on to take on anything be it a fight or a strategy, was pinned down by two grown men while another raised a knife, seconds away from taking Suo away from them for good.
Suo was strong, but he’s still a teenager… still a kid struggling against the heavy weights of the two adults holding him down, uncaring if the movement caused his bones to snap.
And Sakura… he panicked.

Summary
Nirei stared up at him in awe, pain momentarily forgotten. He was wrong in his initial assessment. He realized that as he watched the newcomer dance out of the way of a punch. His fighting wasn’t like water, it was more like the wind - strong and fast, invisible and impossible to stop by any means.
A flash of color caught his already swelling eyes - yellow and red, dangling from the man’s ear, shifting with him, like a silent but deadly windchime.

Summary
On the outside, Suo wasn’t afraid of much. Even when the needle and ink carved into the tender skin on his neck and marked him as one of the Red Chanpuru for life, Sun Fei wasn’t afraid of getting his tattoo. He was afraid of having it for the rest of his life.
Nirei thought he understood. Bacchus and Rakta had explained the significance of these dragon tattoos in the Red Chanpuru. He and Suo had talked about what being part of Red Chanpuru meant to him. What belonging looked like for little Sun Fei as he grew up, and what getting that same tattoo as his brothers when he turned fifteen meant to him. How something as intangible as claiming someone as your family could look like three intertwined dragons in black ink.

The phone had crackled with the unsteady connection and Nirei’s breathing. He was talking so fast that every time he was forced to stop for breath it came loud and staticky through Haruka’s speaker. He wished he had paid closer attention to what Nirei had told him now.
He had come down to the beach to do some collecting and maybe a little fishing in the tide pools. He would go to check, even if he walked away empty handed. Today the tide pools looked like something closer to a murder scene.Series
