Summary
Evan Hansen had time to adjust to living a lie. He learned to tune out voices in his head that were critical of his actions, swiftly repeating to himself, like a mantra, that he was a victim of circumstances.
However, all of that changed the moment he encountered a ghostly presence of Connor Murphy, who turned back time, successfully wrecking Evan's plans.
With the knowledge of possible future chains of events, it's up to the anxious student to decide the fate of his schoolmate. Even the smallest change could alter the story in ways he wouldn't be able to predict, therefore Evan would have to make a choice between letting the events play out the way they previously did for the sake of his own comfort, or use his power to save one human being, even if it meant walking straight into the unknown, with seemingly nothing to gain and a lot to lose.
