Summary
Finn had always liked heroes, but he'd never planned to be one. No, he was a rational human being who was going to go into some sort of fashion designing school after high school, and then get a job doing just that, and then maybe get a girlfriend and figure things out from there.
But things always seem to happen to him, and it's just ridiculous. First, he sprouts wings (quite painfully, Might He Add), then he wakes up in the hero HQ, and then there are the VERY demanding ice powers that seem to be entirely emotion-based, and then- Well, things just pile up. Faked deaths, real deaths, the guy he met in the nurse's office popping up at every other corner, the weird kid he met in the hero HQ, the really pretty barista in the new cafe in town, and oh yeah, the dimensional rifts spilling horrors into their world, that's a pretty big one.
Still, nothing seems quite as big as the fact that now that he's seeing things in a new light, Toby's hiding something. Actually, almost EVERYONE seems to be hiding something. It's like everyone has part of a big puzzle and he isn't allowed to see any of it.
He almost wishes he didn't care. Maybe he could still go to fashion school after all this blows over.

While Tommy had always admired heroes, he can't say he'd ever planned to be one.
He can't really say he'd planned to be anything, he was honestly going to go into journalism after he graduated, but there were SEVERAL wrenches thrown into that plan.
Sprouting wings was the first one, waking up in the hero HQ was the second, the ice powers that demanded he go on some self-discovery quest to be controlled was the third. He kinda lost count of everything after that, what with all the faked deaths and real deaths and dimensional rifts and test tube babies and whatever Tubbo has going on.
Maybe he could still do journalism in his free time once all of this blows over. It has to calm down eventually, right?
