“You,” replies In-ho, as if it’s obvious. Then, “I like looking at you. You have such mesmerizing facial features…”
Gi-hun chuckles, looking away, embarrassed. “Oh, come on, you’re just saying things.”
“I just like to be truthful with you.” He brings up his free hand to caress his cheek. “And the truth is, even with your curls sacrificed to the rain and you completely soaked, that you’re mesmerizing.”

Gi-hun grew up believing soulmates were a gift. In-ho was taught they were a curse.

Summary
In-ho is an ordinary political science professor at Seoul University who prefers his single life and has not been interested in relationships for many years now. He isn't very social and has little interest in socializing with anyone other than his family, until one day a famous photo model, Seong Gi-hun, bursts into his quiet life and all of a sudden In-ho has to deal with the fact that for some reason everyone is convinced that they are in a relationship. Including his family, coworkers, students, and... well, all of Korea at the very least.
When Gi-hun begs him to pretend their relationship is real, In-ho tries to refuse, but finds it beyond his powers when he sees the man's pleading look.
Or: Gi-hun fell first, In-ho fell harder. Fake it till you make it.
