    The fire crackled and flickered as a soft breeze whooshed by. Hestia watched as images she did not will to life passed through the fire, too quickly to decipher. Her eyes widened as each moment in time embedded itself in her head. Her swelled and broke and melted and sank and mended and shattered and rejoiced. The past made her ache, the present made her restless, the future made her terrified.

    Percy took a look around himself, breathed deeply, and closed his eyes.
    Then he heard screams.
    When Percy opened his eyes again, he noted that he was no longer at the bottom of a lake. He was in Mount Olympus, in the Throne Room, standing before the gods.
    “Man, you’re dripping all over me, Perce.” and he was still wet, he realized with the help of Jason.

    There's something heavy in the god's eyes, but Percy isn't sure what it could be—he hasn't heard about any new terrifying prophecies in a while, and things have finally been peaceful. But the look on Hermes' face is a heavy combination of what Percy wants to call fear and hope. Trying to think of what a god could possibly feel both of those emotions about makes Percy's stomach twist nervously.

    "I have a favor to ask."

    "Yeah, that much is obvious. What is it?"

    "Can Luke stay here?"

    Or, Seven years after the Second Titan War, Luke gets a second chance at life. A lot has changed in the time he's been dead, but at least he has Percy and Annabeth to help him navigate his second chance.

    Percy had agreed to spend the summer in Atlantis. His mother had been rather persuasive about it, and the growing tensions between him and Annabeth had convinced him that getting away from dry land and taking a step back would do him a world of good.

    He had simply forgotten that he had never spent more than two days in a row in Atlantis and that, as a result, he knew nothing about its customs and traditions.

    Not to mention that his father would probably see this as an opportunity to convince him to stay, this time for good.

    This story is an exercice, I'll post one chapter per day through the year !

    A few warnings before you read, I'm mainly basing this on the timeline of the books, not the series. Because of this, Percy is now legal, Annabeth is working on architectural plans for Olympus, and I intended to focus on the undersea family. There is absolutely no Annabeth bashing in this story !
