Saudade. It's a word that dances on the tip of my tongue, heavy with longing and nostalgia, yet utterly incapable of capturing the depth of what I feel. It's a feeling that grips me whenever I think of that place, that distant corner of the world that holds pieces of my heart I fear I may never retrieve.
This is the place where I felt myself submerging in the sweet liveliness of life.
.....And this is the place where I have felt the coldness of death with a terrifying closeness.
28 February, where it happened.
That night, when a group of girls and boys came here for a picnic, I had no idea that the bloody event that unfolded here would paint my life with crimson droplets as well.
