Summary
Every time Thiel stands in his primarch’s presence, there is a sense of being measured. He knows it is only natural. He has read the reports on the assassination attempt by the Alpha Legion, traitors using arcane technology to steal his own face and infiltrate the Fortress of Hera.
Still, he can’t help feeling he is being weighed on some invisible scale, and that this time, he will be found too light. He wonders if this is why he has been summoned for a private audience with the primarch. If this is the day he is finally to be censured.
But Guilliman only waves away his apology with the feathered end of his data-quill.
“I did not summon you to inspect your parade uniform,” the primarch says. He looks down, musing. “I suppose, in a way, you are here to inspect mine.”
