Summary
As beautiful as this time of year was, Catra knew Adora was, at heart, a winter person. Cold, frigid air, stocked up boots and covered up clothes, hot drinks and warm fireplaces with loved ones. That was what Adora loved and looked forward to, year after year. Refusing to let go of her favorite season, she stuck with its traditions all through spring and summer despite her lover’s multiple attempts at persuading her otherwise. It just wasn’t in her nature to give up, heatstroke be damned, she always said.
This year, Catra had crafted a master plan to cheer her partner up. Well, that was the goal though it could definitely go very bad very fast, all depending on Adora’s reaction.

Towa's vision swam, her head pounding. She could feel the vampire’s power, a seductive whisper that promised an end to her pain. "I’m not your fucking plaything” She growled.
The room grew colder, and the figures around her sharpened into focus, their faces twisting to become even more disturbing. “But you are, aren’t you?” The vampire's voice grew in power, her breath like a winter storm.
Towa stumbled backward, the pressure on her mind intense. "I'll never be with you" she managed to say through gritted teeth.
The vampire's laughter filled the room, echoing off the walls. "You say that now," she taunted, "but soon, you'll crave it.”
She leaned down and came face to face with Towa. “You’re ill, and i’m your only antidote.”

In the cold winter of 1894, Towa Bird is struck by an illness induced by an unexplainable bite mark on her neck. After enduring weeks of a fever induced delirium and raking nightmares, she is convinced that what she is experiencing is not the doing of the third wave of the plague that currently ripped through the streets of London but instead a mark made by a vampire.
