Summary
When sleep did come it didn't stick for long. Really, all it seemed good for was making the line between dreams and the impossible reality he was living more difficult to draw. He hadn't quite been able to shake the feeling that he was just... flashing in between some kind of purgatory and paradise, torn between the two with violent yanks and hooked grips. Could it really be fully considered a paradise when he still had marred and inhuman skin and insides from everything that had happened in that stupid blood ocean? When he could still sense the thrum of it, the feeling, warm and alive around and on top of and inside of him. When his dreams consisted of sightless eyes digging into swells of dirt, rough protrusions that cut odd lines through his perception.
He dreamt of vivid red and iron, the smell and taste of it so ingrained into who he was that he couldn't imagine a time when he hadn't known.
'Dreams', he called them. As if it were that easy to separate his reality from whatever this was.

“Foxes, huh?”
Grace plops back on his chair with a huff. He examines his own sleeve with what Simon can only call fondness. “Yeah. I love them.” Simon doesn’t know how to handle such a delicate sight, so he hums in what he hopes sounds like appreciation. “What about you, Simon? Do you have a favourite animal?”
Simon doesn’t need to think about it. “Rats.”
“Rats?” Grace echoes back.
“They’re resilient.”
Grace does his own hum of appreciation back at Simon. Grace meets his eyes. “They are. Very much so.”

"Those were words."

"That was English!"

"But that's not possible! It—"
As if the universe were chiding him—Grace knew better than to make such a claim—the voice spoke again, the clearest yet. He returned the radio to his lap with reverence, repeating the words as they came.
"'…Give us our soil… our seeds… so that we may grow… forgive us our sins… oh, Father, oh, Father… please…' Rocky? I'm really not imagining this, right?"

Summary
Shortly after deciding to resume his diary logs from the ship, Ryland Grace's life is once again flipped upside down when an irradiated submarine is detected by Eridian satellites. Now he's back to adapting to life with a new roommate, complete with cultural differences, exotic eating habits, and a mysteriously bloody past he refuses to acknowledge.
A self-indulgent character study about Grace and Simon learning to be around each other like two stray cats.

Summary
Grace woke up with a gasp, eyes flying open as he gripped the sheets tightly. He was drenched in cold sweat. His hair stuck to his forehead, and his shirt had an obvious wet spot. His heart was beating ferociously and his chest heaved with every breath he was greedily taking. And he could never take a satisfying breath, as a tight squeeze in his chest prevented him from doing so.
He had a nightmare.
