Summary
Still holding onto his wrist, River turns slowly and comes face to face with her pickpocket. He’s older than she’d expected – fluffy gray curls peeking out from beneath a battered top hat. Tall and thin, he wears a shabby black coat and leans heavily on a walking stick. He’s staring right at her but his eyes are oddly blank and she realizes with a jolt that he’s blind.
“Well no wonder I caught you,” she mutters, watching him frown in her direction. “You can’t even see what you’re doing.”

The only thing more humiliating than being stood up is being stood up in a restaurant where everyone can clearly see he’s been sitting at a table for two all night without any company.
He turns to signal the waiter and pay for his tea but before he can lift his hand, the chair across from him is pulled back and a whirlwind with hair sinks into it. “Sorry I’m late, darling,” she says, a touch too loudly as she drops her handbag onto the table and beams at him. “Traffic was hell.”

Summary
Aziraphale saw him sometimes in all-staff meetings, sitting toward the front but off to the side, lounging against a wall. Even then, he’d had style—wings tipped in gold and face painted with gold flakes in the pattern of the first constellation he designed. He was amazing, and eye-catching, and it was no exaggeration to say that he did not know Aziraphale even existed.

They wouldn’t tell him anything over the phone, only that his wife had been found wandering a desert planet, barefoot and confused. They’d brought her to the hospital to treat her for dehydration and as her husband and emergency contact, he needed to come fetch her. That’s it. A thousand years since he saw her last and all he knows is that she’s a bit parched.

Summary
Maryanne had worked as a nurse in the psychiatric ward for years, which meant that she knew a bad case when she saw one. Sam Smith's certainly matched her description of a terrible and undeserved psychotic break, but he had something most of her patients didn't: an older brother named Dean.
