Dimitri agreed with a thoughtful nod, though the downing of energy drinks was not particularly what inspired him about Byleth. There were not enough minutes in the day for him to declare what he liked about her, it was a pining so deep that he found himself searching for excuses simply to be near her.
If only she would feel the same.

Summary
After a long life the Queen of Faerghus passes away, leaving her husband behind. Dimitri, in his mourning, makes a request of the goddess Sothis for the opportunity to do it all over again, and to live another life with his beloved.
What he did not expect was to wake up in a Fodlan free from war, working as a wandering mercenary with his father, while Byleth lavishes in Fhirdiad as her royal Highness, Princess of the Holy Kingdom of Faerghus.
With their roles reversed, and Byleth's memory of her past life gone, Dimitri undertakes the mission of winning her back.

“You. That is what I want." Byleth found herself cringing at her own bluntness. No one had ever prepared her for this. How did anyone ever survive it? "As I said, it need not change things between us," she quickly reassured him.
“I will be honest, that was not what I expected you to say.” There was a moment of prolonged agony as Dimitri contemplated her confession, an unreadable expression on his face. “That said, I would not mind,” he said slowly, carefully, “if things changed between us." There was a pause as the words sat between them, heavy with possibility. He continued, hesitantly, "I am by no means experienced, but I could be your lover if that is what you wish."
