Summary
Jon had always been told stories about the Witch of the Wastes. Some taken more lightly than others, threats from his grandmother that if he didn’t behave, the Witch would come down from the hills and steal him away to use in a spell. But when he came home late on nights when her Castle was spotted nearby, the concern on her face was real.
And then all of a sudden, there were rumours that she was dead, and yet, the castle kept moving. Which meant it still had an occupant.
It was her son, they said.
A series of Howl's Moving Castle inspired scenes done for the Seasons in the Archives Winter exchange!

Summary
“No one is anything here. It’s easier that way. If you’re somebody, you can be hurt. If you have too much personality, too many little facets and cracks, things start to snag and catch on it, and it drags you down to where things ache. But if you’re nothing, then they don’t have anything to cling onto. You can just slip away unharmed.”
“And what about the good things?”
“There isn’t anything good, not anymore. You saw to that.”

Jon leaves Martin on that cold and desolate beach. At the end of the world, they find their way back together.

Summary
“Right, okay… So I’m going home for the long weekend. It’s mum’s sixtieth and she’s having a whole big family party. Problem is, I… Well I told her I was bringing a date. And now Tim can’t come, so yeah, fair amount of stressed about it.”
Jon paused, considering the information. And then, "Why was Tim going?"
"Well he was going because I haven't got a date, have I?"
"Then why even say you had one?"
"Panic! Bloody panic! I've been out since I was fifteen and never once actually brought someone home. I think I just wanted to seem like I had my life together, y’know? Mainly I just... I think I just wanted someone to be there with me, so I wasn't just alone with her the entire time. A bit of comfort.” There was pause as Martin let out a dramatic sigh, seemingly relieved to ramble out his thoughts.
"... I could go with you. If you want."

“So is this a regular occurrence?” Jon asked, when they were all comfortably settled. Gerry nearly choked on his drink.
“Excuse me?”
“You heard me. I’m never home on Friday’s. Is this when the…” Jon trailed off, pausing to laugh at his own phrasing before he’d even got it out, “When the magic happens, so to speak?”
~~~Or, Jon learns that his partners have been keeping something from him
Summary
If the bed was heaven, this is absolutely blissful. The warm water surrounds his aching joints, slowly massaging them as it laps around him. The water, just seconds earlier clean and pure, is already starting to take on a stale quality as the dirt begins to slough off of the two of them, but Jon can’t bring himself to care for relief that it’s no longer coating his skin. He thinks the lavender may have been a bad choice, because between it and the warmth he’s finding it hard not to fall asleep again.
“This okay?” Martin asks, because he’s still worried about Jon and his comfort and that makes his heart ache with affection, that someone would care that much about him and his boundaries.
Summary
Martin wasn't alone when he went back to investigate Vittery's basement that night, and he wasn't alone when he fled back to his apartment either. Stuck caring for a boss that hates him, all he can do is pray his coworkers notice their absence.
Trapped in an apartment with his least favourite assistant and limited supplies, Jon is forced to confront his fear of the supernatural head-on while battling his cravings and bizarrely realistic nightmares. Also, there may or may not be a worm trying to burrow into his leg.
This is going to be one hell of a week.
Summary
“Have we met before?” the other man says, scrutinising him closely. “You’re from here? From London? Where?”
“Firstly,” Martin tells him, ticking off his fingers, “no, I’m not. Secondly, fuck off am I telling a stranger where I live. I have lived in London long enough to pick up that much, at least. Thirdly, who are you? And how do I know you?”
“I—“ the man says, frowning. “I don’t know either. But I know you.”
Summary
Delusions. Jon had been dealing with delusions since he was a child, around seven or eight. He would lay awake until two or three in the morning, staring at the window, chest heavy with the absolute certain knowledge that somebody was about to break in and kill him and his grandmother. He had tried to warn her—of course he had tried to warn her—but she didn’t listen. So he would sit, tears in his eyes and stuffed rabbit clutched to his chest, waiting for the moment when somebody broke in with a knife.
A fic where Jon's struggles with paranoia in season two are greatly worsened by schizoaffective disorder.
Summary
Jon spent the first few years of his life bathed in the rosewater-saffron scent of language. He does not remember his father, scarcely remembers his mother’s face, but he remembers her voice, dripping honeyed and sweet like warm tea and nabat and singing lullabies the color of roses, remembers not the words she said but the sounds they made, the shape of them in her voice, the weight of them in his ears. Jon spent the first few years of their life with twin languages on their tongue, twin voices in their ear, long before Beholding claimed them and gave them hundreds.
Or, a look at Jonathan Sims, language, culture, and Beholding.
Summary
Jon is not an idiot. Contrary to what some of the people who love him might believe, he’s not even entirely oblivious to social cues, though he’ll admit they elude him perhaps more often than is standard.
All of this to say that in the week following their escape from the Lonely, as Martin graduates from shy smiling glances and tentative clutching of clammy hands to full-bellied laughter and warm, steady embraces, Jon is fully capable of figuring out where things are going.
