Summary
Fox had known from a very young age that he and his brothers were slaves. Nothing but disposable fodder for the Republic. And thus it had always baffled him when Cody had spoke of the kind Jetti he served under, or when Wolffe spoke of his as a buir. Fox had never had a kind interaction with a Natborn. In his eyes, they were all the same greedy men. This did not stop him of course, from taking the pirate's deal.
Or: Hondo kidnaps Fox, and upon seeing how smart Fox is, offers him a job. Fox takes it. This, somehow, winds up saving the Galaxy.

Summary
He remembered this afternoon often in years to come, turning over those words in his mind during sleepless nights and grief-stricken days. He thought of them in the temple, on war torn worlds, while holding dying friends and dying enemies in his arms. He thought of them standing on the shores of a river of burning ruin, and he thought of them as he waited, quietly and patiently, in the merciless desert.
An old Jedi Master imparts some wisdom concerning Mercy, Balance, and the Will of the Force to young Padawan Obi-wan Kenobi and a gaggle of other younglings. It is a lesson that haunts Obi-wan for the rest of his life.

Summary
Eighteen-year-old Obi-Wan struggles to support Qui-Gon, who never recovered from the losses of Xanatos and Tahl. He's in pain from a blocked lifebond. All he wants is knighthood and a future with his bondmate. As Qui-Gon's mental health deteriorates, that dream seems to be slipping through his fingers.
-How could Obi-Wan's childhood trauma from his Legends backstory have happened in a Jedi Order run by responsible, caring adults, and what would his recovery from it realistically look like?
-Good people make harmful choices for understandable reasons (unprocessed trauma, unhealthy attachment, insufficient institutional safeguards...)
-Quinlan/Obi-Wan, because I wanted more of that so I wrote it
TWs: discussion of slavery, being a child soldier, emotional abuse/neglect, substance abuse, and brief mentions of sexual violence

If Rael had a credit for every time he had to finish training a padawan in his lineage, he would have two credits, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice.

Summary
Jedi cloaks are made for children.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is a year and a half old when he first sees this principle in action. He is fourteen, twenty-five, twenty-nine, and thirty-six when he gets a reminder.
Or: Jedi cloaks are weird. Here's a series of events showing why they're made that way.
