Summary
Dustin has been reckless and closed off since Eddie's death, Steve handles it as well as an emotionally constipated 20 year old can, but things with the Upside Down don't wait for them to get their shit together, they need to figure out how to bring Vecna too his knees, and soon; but when the assumptions they've built their foundation on crumbles, and they can tell upside from down no longer, how will they get through it? What lurks in the shadows of that other dimension and do they stand a chance?
Started this before season five came out, it's basically an alternative to it. The question I was desperate to see answered in the show never really was; how horrifying could the upside down be? I always saw ST as a horror show on the side, they are good at it! I wanted to make it more creepy tho, and I desperately wanted more Dustin and Steve!! So here we have grieving traumatised Dustin, a doing his best, but I'm not perfect Steve. Voice of reason Nancy, Robin is there for comfort. A comfort gay. The party is here, Hopper is here, everyone is here - except Eddie - and they are familyyyy.

Summary
A rewrite of stranger things from Steve's perspective (with changes and own creative liberties taken) Season 4 and 5 will be the most different.
Slow burn (extremely) steddie fic
Prewarning, stancy at the beginning (sorry)A rewrite of the entirety of stranger things in which Eddie plays a bigger roll, especially in Steve’s life. The two have an unspoken agreement, they go to each other when something is up, knowing neither one will ask the questions that cannot be answered. Until those questions suddenly have to be answered.
“To what do I owe this pleasure, my liege.” His voice drops a semi-tone at the last two words, my stomach tightening as I look away from him.
“Thought you’d be lost without me.” Slips out of my mouth before I can think any better, but he just laughs and gestures towards his trailer.
“Uncle Wayne might be asleep so.. “ He trails off, dragging a ringed finger over his lips and sticking his other hand in his pocket to feel for something.
“I can come back at a better time?” I mutter hoping he disagrees with me
“No, no, man, just wait here, I know a spot, just gotta grab supplies.” And just like that, poof, he’s disappearing into the trailer.Bookmarked by Elliewilliams19

Spring 1986. The gates are closed, the Mindflayer defeated and the Upside Down a distant memory. But Hawkins has always drawn dark things towards it. The party wants to experience normal High School but soon enough their plans for a simple life get overthrown. Some nightmares never truly leave.

Or: the one where strange things start happening in Hawkins three years after the Upside Down was destroyed and Steve and the teens just need to make sure it isn’t all happening again.
Spoiler alert: nothing is as it seems.
I just couldn’t get the idea of Steve staying in Hawkins as a watcher in case shit goes down again out of my head. So here we are. Because when you get used to shit coming back again and again and again, what else are you supposed to expect?
