The myth of Pygmalion and Galatea: Pygmalion, a famous sculptor, falls in love with his own creation and yearns to give the creation life. He fixates upon his sculpture day in, and day out, longing for her to come to life. He prays to the Goddess Aphrodite to grant his creation life, so that they could live together forever. After seeing the sculpture with her own eyes, Aphrodite answers Pygmalion’s pleas, granting life to Galatea, and allowing them to live happily ever after.
