He stuffed his hands in his pockets and rocked forward on the balls of his feet, staring straight ahead as one might do when stuck with a stranger on an elevator. She fought back tears as she followed him to the door of apartment 42. He finally turned to look at her, upon realizing that he still didn't have a set of keys to his own apartment.
She stepped in front of him, inserting her own key into the door and opening it for him to enter. "I guess we need to ask your landlord for another set," Scully said, breaking the silence. Neither of them mentioned the fact that his own set of keys was nowhere to be found, thanks to the fact that they were on his person when he disappeared 8 months prior.”
