Summary
It wasn't every day that you inherit a whole farm including animals from you grandparents. So, seeing the state of the actual buildings and how much everything had changed in just a few years, San made it his mission to renovate and take care of everything as good as he was able to.
Without his grandparents, the farm felt empty, but San had his friends who helped with the chores and a certain creature, the shadow of the barn to make him feel less lonely.
Or: San moves back from the city to his childhood home to find some surprises and a life long companion in form of a black furball.

"I won't keep your friend past sundown," Hongjoong interjects smoothly, cutting into the tension. His tone is light, almost dismissive, but there's an unmistakable edge to his words. He doesn't look at Seonghwa this time; his focus shifts to Wooyoung, studying him like a specimen under a microscope. "My name is Hongjoong. If I keep him longer, feel free to come up to the Capitol and demand I return him."
"And I will," Wooyoung fires back without hesitation, his voice cracking like a whip. "And I'll rip those guns from your enforcers while I'm at it."
It's instant. One of the enforcers reacts, their hand moving to the stun baton at their hip.

Summary
Wooyoung looks around, taking in the devastation. The building is barely recognizable—barely even standing, a jagged mess of twisted steel beams, shattered concrete, and piles of debris. It's hard to believe they survived at all.
"What about the others?" he asks, his voice hoarse. He remembers where they had been—the entrance, further from the blast.
"I don't know," Yeosang says curtly, his voice carrying a tension that Wooyoung doesn't miss.
