“What the fuck are you doing?” Katsuki hisses, jerking against the hold.
“You’re trying to convince them that you’re gay, right?” Todoroki murmurs, like it’s the most obvious thing in the world. “What better way than to get a boyfriend?” He nods meaningfully toward their clasped hands.
I’m not trying to convince anyone of anything, Katsuki wants to shout. I am gay.
What comes out instead is: “They’re gonna think you’re gay too, moron.”
Todoroki just smiles at him—this soft, infuriating curve of his mouth that makes Katsuki want to knock his perfect teeth out.
"So?"
Or, Kaminari comes out as gay, and some people seem to think it's their cue to be assholes. Fed up, Katsuki stands up one day and makes it clear—Kaminari’s not the only one. The problem is, no one in his class actually believes him.
Even bigger problem: Todoroki suddenly starts holding his hand in public. Todoroki, who he’s in love with. Todoroki, who is straight.

“Todoroki,” The man speaks in a tone short enough that Shouto can’t help but take an instinctive step closer to the exit. “Do you want to explain to me why you just set your classmate on fire?”
Like a coward, he flees.

Summary
It’s ironic, he thinks, how bright his father burns. How his presence commands an entire room. How much of his life is occupied by him. Endeavor’s fire burns through them all, in flames, in anger, in the hurt they bring. He’s the reason Touya died, the reason his mother is locked up in a hospital and the reason Natsuo and Fuyumi could never have a proper family.
Shouto’s imagined his own undoing so many times. He often wonders, as Endeavor’s creation, if he’ll go up in flames, a spectacle for all to see, or if he’ll fizzle out in silence until there’s nothing left but ash. A masterpiece falling from grace. Sometimes he even wonders if one day he’ll burn himself up like Touya had. He imagines Endeavor’s reaction, as he once again conceals a dead Todoroki and continues to live without guilt for the children he destroyed.
In the end, his unravelling begins with a single drop of blood.
Alternatively: after moving into the dorms and finally learning how to relax, the years of abuse Shouto suffered at the hands of Endeavor finally start to catch up to him and he finds himself not knowing how to handle it.

Summary
The difference between Shoto and his classmates, the thing that made him better than rather than same as was the fact he didn't have any needs.
He did not need brothers- he had them, sorted them into neat catagories of Touya the dead one and Natsuo the missing one. He had them and he moved past the need for them to be anything more. His classmates wanted brotherhood amongst themselves, which made them hesitate in training as they tried to come to terms with hurting each other.
But he wanted.

Todoroki Shoto, kept in the shadows by his father his whole life, is forced to confront reality in the face of Class 1A's insistence on friendships, Aizawa and Yamada's meddling, and his growing sibling issues. Upon realising his life is a lie, he is inspired to take drastic measures.Long Saga featuring Dadzawa, slowburn Todobaku and the ghost of Todoroki Touya haunting the narrative, as always.
