Summary
Eddie made his way through the darkened house on instinct, bare feet silent on the floor. He resisted the urge to look over his shoulder, because this was his damn home and he should be able to get up in the night for a glass of water without getting anxious.
--Eddie wanders his house in the middle of the night because he can't sleep. Buck isn't dealing with the aftermath of the shooting nearly as well as he wants to pretend he is. They find each other. There are cuddles. Neither of they are okay but they are together.

Summary
“I’m so in love with you, Eddie,” his voice shaky as he confessed, blood dripping from Buck's mouth, “Is why it hurt– seeing you leave cause I love you so much, too much.”
Eddie felt helpless, not doing enough as he heard Buck confess what he'd dream about for a long time, blood mixing with his own tears. Then, on the way to the hospital, Buck's vitals crashed and he stopped breathing.
or, Eddie knew him and Buck were meant to be, he knew Buck loved him as much as he loved him– they're getting there, just needed more time. That's until Buck's shot during a call.

Summary
"I'm kidding, relax." Buck grins at him, radiating false innocence, and takes another sip. "Although I bet if I really wanted you to do something, I'd just have to ask nicely. Say please."
He pauses, Eddie can see the mischief brewing, can practically see the gears turning in Buck's head. "Or maybe just call you sir. That seems to work pretty well."
Eddie stops breathing. So much for trying to act natural.
Buck is watching him now, really watching him with sharp curious eyes and Eddie can feel himself being catalogued, examined, picked apart and analyzed like a bug under a microscope.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Eddie says, which is a blatant lie and they both know it.
"Sure you don't." Buck pushes off the counter, still smiling that infuriating smile. "Whatever you say, sir."

Eddie flipped the postcard one last time, reading over the words he’d inked into the paper. His thumb brushed along the corner as he slipped the card into the slot.
Hey Buck,
I’m drunk in Texas and this is still the only address I know by heart. I miss you.
Yours,
E.D.

Summary
“Need one practice kiss for good luck?” Buck asked softly, a twinkle sparkling in his eyes.
Eddie gaped at him, feigning horror to disguise the actual panic settling behind his ribcage. “Was my kiss last time not satisfactory enough?”
“Well,” Buck said with a wince, “your date that night flopped, so obviously not.”
“I didn’t even kiss her, Buck!” Eddie protested.
“Not my problem.”
“You’re so annoying.” Eddie inched closer, his hands coming up to seize the front of Buck’s shirt. “C’mere.”
Or; Eddie starts dating again and Buck lets him practice kissing him for good luck
