“I’m sorry, too,” Wolfwood grumbles. “Since you’re bitchin’ more than usual. Layin’ yourself all flat and apologetic—skeeves me the hell out.”
Vash blinks, the eyes on his arms blinking with him, and his silence turns a little chagrined.

Summary
As easy as it usually is to read Vash, he’s not typically very keen on explaining himself. Wolfwood asks no less than five times between waking up and leaving the hotel what’s got such a pep in Vash’s step, but he only starts to understand as they enter the diner, greeted by pink and red balloons, romantic jazz on the radio, and a fake flower on every table.
Wolfwood groans. “Really? You’re this excited over Valentine’s Day?”
“What did you expect?” Vash retorts—and really, what did Wolfwood expect? “It’s a holiday all about love! Of course I like it. Morning, Marie!”
