Summary
10 years after everything—everyone seemed to move on. Dustin, thriving as a professor; Lucas, making a name for himself as a professional basketball player alongside Max—who's now a psychologist getting her degree and specialization at a medical school; Will, a graphic designer for some big company who is also a part time model for Jonathan's occasional magazine.
It seems everything has fallen into place for the whole party, well, except for Mike, who is in his boring accountant job whilst publishing books, D&D guides and whatnot, terrified to end up in his father's footprints and is desperate to make a change, to do what he loves. Unfortunately, he's slowly falling into the inevitable fate he's practically laid out for himself.
However, in some sick, twisted way, the world has a habit of playing with you. Without seeing and being reminded of each other for 10 whole years, the party suddenly ended up in the place where all of this started, and when Mike saw that an unread letter has arrived a year after he left, and catching a glimpse of Will on a random Tuesday back at Hawkins, he felt something he hadn't all these years.

“Hi,” Will blurts out before he can stop himself, and he can feel his cheeks heat up in embarrassment so quickly it must be unhealthy somehow. “Uh -“
The guy shuts his phone off and reaches up to his ear to pull out an earbud. He shoots Will a grin, which does not help the whole blushing-crimson thing. “Hey,” he says coolly, and Will admires his composure while he wills the earth to collapse beneath him.
The guy quirks an eyebrow at Will when he doesn’t look away, then seems to take in his slightly disheveled and paint-stained appearance - he’d had his painting and drawing class just before he’d gone home, and had managed, as he always does, to get paint everywhere - because his smile grows a little softer, a little fonder. His shoulders relax against the bench, and Will lets out a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. “You get sexiled?”
misery loves company, especially when the company comes in the form of a cute English major.
