Summary
This is a work of fiction that started as a crack fic that was meant to be under 2k words, although some of the plot may be inspired by the real world none of these people or characters have actually done these things. Author has never been to New York or any of the other places in this story, really, so any fact checking would be great! This is the first hopefully finished story I’ve posted, so feedback would, again, be wonderful!
It's still not finished, but maybe someday I'll return to it. Feel free to read it, that might spur my brain onwards lol. I also don't fully understand formatting of ao3 because I mostly write in my notes app or on google docs sooooo

Summary
Ayase Momo speaks through actions, struggles with delicate words. She lives like her grandmother, actions loud and (mostly) clear. She navigates with shoulder checks, tight hugs, fingertips dancing on bandaged knuckles. An ear pressed to a chest containing a heart that beats so fast it must hurt.
Takakura ‘Okarun’ Ken (usually) has no trouble with words, it's the nuances of touch that evade him. If he ever unintentionally hurts his friends, he needs to tell them everything he really means: they’re so precious, he doesn't want to waste time on misunderstandings.
So it's natural, that even in the spaces, they slot together seamlessly, complementary pairs, where for a moment, Momo finds those difficult words, and Okarun reads her temperamental gaze.
Maybe being complements is just their little hidden premonition of love, anchors mooring each other’s ships.

It’s 49 hours in when she meets the spirit for the first time and she feels like maybe its arrival should have been heralded with war drums or screeching violins, but instead all she gets is a second of alarm on Jin’s face as she leans in to stroke his cheek (forgetting that her hand is wet with condensation dripping from her glass of ice water) and that sweet face goes from alarm to a wary stare, so she says the first thing that comes to mind, which is ‘hello there, sweetie, what’s your name?’
‘Evil Eye,’ it says, and then it asks for juice.
